Stavanger Konserthus

The 1 500-seat concert hall Fartein Valen is considered as one of the best halls in the world, along with Musikverein in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam or KKL in Luzern. Thanks to its variable acoustic volume, it can accommodate symphonic and chamber music as well as contemporary music. Adjacent is a 1 200-seat modular hall for amplified music.

Capaciteit Concertzaal met 1500 zitplaatsen, hoofdzakelijk voor klassieke en hedendaagse muziek; multifunctionele zaal met 1200 zitplaatsen, hoofdzakelijk voor versterkte muziek. Totale oppervlakte 12,000 m².

Gebruik Concertzaal: symfonische concerten (Stavanger Symphony Orchestra), recitals, festival van hedendaagse muziek; multifunctionele zaal: diverse muziek- en theaterproducties voor een staand of zittend publiek.

Werkzaamheden Totale advies- en opvolgingsopdracht, inclusief medeontwerp aan het basisconcept.

Adviseur(s) Eckhard Kahle, Yann Jurkiewicz, Kahle Acoustics. In samenwerking met Henrik Möller, Akukon Oy, Helsinki (multifunctionele zaal) en Tønnes Ognedal, Svein Folkvord, Sinus AS, Stavanger (bouwakoestiek, lokale opvolging en coördinatie).
